The water level is always an important factor in hydrographic survey. At present, there are over 60 fixed hydrologic stations under the jurisdiction of China MSA. With an automatic tide survey and forecast system, these tide statons collect automatically the tide datum and give accurate forecast for the hydrographic survey in harbors and channels.

Shanghai MSA publishes the tide tables every year.
