  On 24th November, 2009 annual meeting of surveying and mapping group of China institute of navigation (CIN) was held in Guangzhou. More than 40 delegates from Hong Kong Maritime Division, Changjiang Waterway Bureau, Hydrograhic Brigades, Chart Print Press of Shanghai MSA and Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
  
  After the opening speech, paper presentation started. The papers presented cover extensively and prospectively, attracting much attention of delegates. The meeting selected 117 papers that had been compiled “2009 annual meeting of surveying and mapping group of China institute of navigation (CIN) technical proceedings”, and four papers obtained Grade A Award, 8 obtained Grade B Award and 12 obtained Grade C Award. Involving surveying technology and application, mapping technology and application as well as surveying and mapping management, etc., the papers selected cover current latest research and application outcome on surveying and mapping field, reflect the general tendency of surveying and mapping development, which will promote the future development of national surveying and mapping.
