China receive praise from IMO for its implementation of maritime conventions

• From November 9th to 18th, an audit team of the Voluntary IMO Member State Audit Scheme conducted a auditing on China’s performance on implementation of maritime conventions. The auditing, which is relation to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974 and six other International conventions on maritime related issues, inspected the China’s grand performance strategy, maritime legislation and regulation, organizations and functions, Institutional arrangements, performance effectiveness, resources and personal management. On behalf of the Chinese government, Ministry of Transport and China MSA received the audit and verification, during which the official auditing has been given to Shanghai MSA and Tianjin MSA respectively. In order to have an grasp of the overall situation of China’s implementation of international conventions, the audit team visited maritime divisions, aids to navigation divisions, hydrographic divisions, VTS centers, SOR centers, coast stations and sewage receiving facilities.
  
  After a comprehensive inspection, the audit team highly appreciated China’s effort on pushing its maritime service commitment. It is believed that China has earnestly fulfilled its obligation and met required standard of the Voluntary IMO Member State Audit Scheme.
