• The hydrographic brigade of Tianjin MSA held a project acceptance meeting for tide analysis and processing system of coastal ports in the past few days. Experts from Tianjin MSA, Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering and Navy Institute of Hydrographic Surveying and Charting attended the meeting. In the meeting, based on the report delivered by the project group on the status of project, experts examined the achievements and unanimously approved that the system pass the acceptance.
  
  Based on database technology, the system takes tide station as a unit to conduct management, analysis, forecasting and datum calculations of the tide data, and it has capabilities of check-up, interpolation and restoration for the data collected in a graphic mode. Meanwhile, using the least square method to conduct tidal harmonic analysis, the module computing with high precision is fast and reliable.??In addition, it has the functional modules for synchronized transmission of mean sea level corrections as well as calculation of depth datum constants.
  
  The system will effectively solve the problems on tide pretreatment, tidal harmonic analysis and tidal datum calculation for hydrographic survey so as to promote serving Binhai New Area construction.
